Why should I start with a boxed cake mix?
Starting with a boxed cake mix might feel like cheating or the easy way out of baking and honestly it kind of is but that’s the point!
Using a cake mix is the easiest way to do your baking because it stops you from having to drag out every single ingredient for cupcakes. You can just dump out the mix and everything you need is ready to go.
Another reason to use boxed cake mixes to make things like a strawberry milk cupcake recipe is the fact that you can spend your time decorating and enjoying the process instead of fretting over the actual process of gathering and combining ingredients.
Making strawberry milk cupcakes is easy and fun, the boxed cake mix just takes the stress out of the process. You don’t have to worry about them flopping because the mix gives you a great and reliable result every time!

Ingredients needed to make a strawberry milk cupcake recipe:
This recipe has two separate ingredients lists. You will need things to make the frosting and the cupcakes themselves. The recipe starts with a white cake mix, greek yogurt, vegetable oil, water, egg whites, Nesquik strawberry powder and pink cupcake liners.
For the frosting you will need salted butter, vanilla, pink Himalayan salt, strawberry extract, powdered sugar, milk, pink food coloring, and flamingo royal icing decorations.
You will also need a piping bag and frosting tip along with pink sanding sugar! I’m linking those items so you can buy them online if you can’t locate them in stores like Walmart, Michael’s, Party City, or Joann Fabrics!

Kitchen Essentials For Cupcake Recipes:
If you are trying to pick out some of the best supplies to stock your kitchen for cake mix recipes and baking in general, these are some of our favorites and must have items.
I like half sheet baking pans that are quality (hello no noisy pops or sloshed cookie dough from twisting), I line my cookie sheets with silicone baking mats. These are a must when doing cake mix recipes which can settle and become thin at lot easier than traditional cookie dough.
Of course mixing bowls, a mixer, spatula, and some whisks should be on your list if you don’t have ones that you love. I also like to have a set of cooling racks so that my recipes can properly cool before they’re scarfed down by my family!
For cupcakes you’ll also need cupcake pans, cupcake liners, and a mixer!

The whole process for making these strawberry milk cupcakes is fun and easy. You’ll see that they’re pretty simple and straightforward, even with a homemade frosting for the top!

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray or line a standard muffin tin.

Steps 1-2: Add cake mix to a large mixing bowl. Using a hand or stand mixer, add in your oil, egg whites, yogurt and Nestle Nesquik Strawberry Flavored Powder and mix on medium until well incorporated. Add in your water.

Step 3: Add batter into the muffin tin until each is about 2/3 full. Bake for 16-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before frosting.
