A pre-made naan or pita bread works perfectly. You can also use a pre-baked pizza crust or even a large tortilla for a thinner, crispier version. Just make sure that is hearty enough to hold all the ingredients.

- Flatbread: It’s the vehicle that holds everything together—thin enough to crisp up, sturdy enough to support toppings. No pizza dough needed, just use naan.
- Bacon: Adds a savory depth enhances the overall flavor profile, making the flatbread more indulgent and crave-worthy
- Cooked Shredded Chicken: Chicken provides the hearty, satisfying base that makes this flatbread feel like a true meal—not just a snack, perfect for pizza night.
Variations and Substitutions for Chicken and Bacon Pizza
I love this easy weeknight dinner because you can change it up so many different ways.
- Chicken: Use leftover chicken, rotisserie chicken for a quick option. Canned chicken, grilled chicken strips, or even ground chicken would also work.
- Bacon: For a healthier alternative, try turkey bacon bits. You can also use prosciutto, pancetta, or even a vegetarian bacon substitute.
- Ranch: A homemade buttermilk ranch dressing will elevate the flavor, but your favorite store-bought brand is a great shortcut. For a different flavor profile, try a BBQ ranch or a chipotle ranch dressing.
- Veggies: Add thinly sliced green onion, bell peppers, jalapeños for a kick, or fresh spinach for some extra greens for this easy pizza
- Cheese: Experiment with different cheeses. A spicy pepper jack would add a nice heat, shredded mozzarella cheese or a smoked gouda could provide a deep, smoky flavor to the flatbreads.

Prep Ahead Suggestions for this Easy Dinner Recipe
- Cook the Chicken and Bacon: Cook and crumble the bacon and shred or dice the chicken up to 2-3 days in advance. Store them in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator.
- Pre-chop Veggies: If you are adding any other vegetables like red onion or bell peppers, you can chop them ahead of time.
- Assemble and Ready to Bake: With the ingredients prepped, assembling the flatbread takes only a few minutes. You can get everything ready to go and then simply pop it in the oven when you’re ready to eat.
Alternate Cooking Methods for Good Pizza
- Grilling: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the assembled flatbread on the grill grates and close the lid. Grill for 5-8 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden and slightly charred.
- Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Place the flatbread in the basket (you may need to do this in batches) and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is crisp.
- Stovetop: Use a large, heavy skillet or griddle pan. Place the flatbread in the pan over medium heat. Cover with a lid or foil to help the cheese melt. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the bottom is crispy and the toppings are heated through.
How to Store, Reheat and Use Leftovers
- Store: Wrap leftover flatbread tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil, or place it in an airtight container. It will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat: For best results, reheat the flatbread in an oven or toaster oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-10 minutes, or until heated through and the crust is crispy again. You can also use an air fryer. Avoid the microwave, as it will make the crust soft and rubbery.
- Use Leftovers: Leftover flatbread can be chopped up and added to a salad, or used as a topping for a bowl of creamy tomato soup.
Questions about this Chicken Bacon Ranch Recipe
To avoid a soggy bottom, spread the ranch sauce in a thin, even layer and avoid over-saturating the bread. Pre-baking the flatbread for a few minutes before adding the toppings can also help.
You can use garlic aioli, Caesar dressing, or even a homemade yogurt-based ranch if you prefer a lighter option.
Yes—just use a gluten-free flatbread or tortilla. Check labels on ranch and bacon to ensure they’re gluten-free too.

Tips to Love this Recipe for Naan with Chicken Breast and Toppings
- Don’t overdo the ranch: A little goes a long way. Use just enough to coat the flatbread without making it soggy. You can always serve extra ranch on the side for dipping.
- Crispy Bacon is Key: Make sure your bacon is cooked to a nice crisp. Soggy bacon on a flatbread is not a good texture.
- Season the Chicken: Even if you’re using a store-bought rotisserie chicken, a sprinkle of garlic powder, onion powder, or a little salt and pepper can enhance the flavor.
- Garnish for Freshness: A sprinkle of fresh chives or parsley after baking adds a pop of color and a fresh flavor that cuts through the richness of the bacon and cheese.
- Hot Oven, Quick Bake: A hot oven is crucial for getting a crispy crust and melted cheese without overcooking the toppings. Aim for a quick bake at a high temperature.
- Serve this recipe with: I love using different types of ranch like this: buffalo ranch, or this chipotle ranch or try my buffalo chicken ranch flatbread.

- Layer chicken and bacon on top of the cheese so they crisp slightly during baking.
- Blend cheeses like mozzarella (for melt), cheddar (for sharpness), and Parmesan (for depth).
- Avoid pre-shredded cheese for better melt and texture.
- Cook bacon separately until just crispy to avoid chewiness.
- Brush a little bacon fat on the flatbread edges before baking for added flavor.
- Add fresh toppings after baking such as chopped green onions, parsley, or a drizzle of ranch.
