How to Make Up Cupcakes

STEP 1: Baking

Preheat the oven, prepare batter, and bake cupcakes per the box instructions.

STEP 2: Prepare Frosting

Using three different piping bags, fill one with chocolate, one with vanilla, and one with a lightly colored frosting. Cut a large tip in the vanilla piping bag, and small tips in the others.

STEP 3: Decorate

After the cupcakes are completely cooled, use the vanilla frosting to pipe a flat circle on the top. Then use the chocolate frosting to draw a house at the bottom of the cupcake. Next, with the lightly colored frosting, personalize and decorate the house. Finally, create “balloon strings” with the chocolate frosting.

  • 1 Box Yellow Cake Mix, Plus additional ingredients per directions
  • 16 Ounces Chocolate Frosting
  • 16 Ounces Vanilla Frosting
  • 16 Ounces Light Colored Frosting
  • 24 Bubblegum Balls

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven, prep, and bake cupcakes per recipe instructions. Cool completely.
  • Fill 3 seperate piping bags with vanilla, chocolate, and a light colored frosting. Using scissors, cut a large tip in the vanilla bag. Then cut a small tip in both the chocolate and light frosting bags.
  • Use the vanilla frosting to pipe a smooth, flat swirl on the cupcake.
  • Then use the chocolate frosting to draw a house at the bottom of the cupcake.
  • Take the light colored frosting and add detail to the house as shown. Personalize the roof and windows to make them unique!
  • Then take the chocolate frosting again and pipe balloon strings in varying lengths from the house out toward the top edge of the cupcake.
  • Place a gumball at the end of each string to resemble the balloons.
  • Serve and enjoy!
